Beyond Asana

enlighten your practise - yoga beyond the mat
Teacher: Dory Walker
Bristol, UK.
Launching January 2020

Any cursory understanding of yoga will point towards a whole world ‘beyond asana’. The road map of Patanjali gives 8 avenues or steps of study and practise. The Bhagavad Gita invites the student of yoga to explore the 4 ‘margas’ or paths of yoga. The Upanishads are filled with references to the diversity and multi-faceted nature of yoga.

Embraced fully our yoga will merge into all areas of our lives. Our relationships (with ourselves, others and our planet), and our life choices become an extension of the conscious breath and movement on our asana mats. The yoga comes off the mat and into all aspects of life. A life lived in yoga, beyond the asana.

This series of workshops will explore yoga beyond asana drawing on teachings from the Vedas, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita and other seminal yogic texts.

Looking through the lens of going beyond the asana, enrich your practise and your life.

Testimonials

"Following a move to Clifton I joined classes following a recommendation from a friend who regularly attended Yogakutir, which speaks volumes in itself and it certainly did not disappoint. I was looking for more than just a regular yoga practice and this has been expertly delivered and further enhanced after attending focused workshops with Rory & a retreat with Dory over the last year. The years of experience & knowledge both share during each practice provided the therapy I needed - as of course yoga is far more than postures on a mat. Yogakutir has actually changed my life and I very much look forward to continuing my journey in the coming years with their guidance & support - and they are both so lovely with it too”
