About 42 Acres
Set in 42 acres of private land, this beautiful retreat space is encircled by seven hundred acres of ancient forest. Sustainability and comfort are at the forefront of the 42 acres vision, with reclaimed materials used to outfit the interiors of the property, plus all of the power is renewable and self generated through biomass and solar.
This retreat will be an opportunity for you to have some quiet time, space and reflection, alongside a morning and evening programme of yoga, pranayama, meditation and will be space to reflect and and reset for the new year.
We will open the day with meditation and pranayama, followed by a 2 hour asana class between 8 and 10am. A delicious breakfast will then be served with free time and lunch to follow.
We will then meet again in the afternoon for a more restorative and gentle yoga practise. The day will close with singing and evening meditation. There will be a special dinner and an opportunity to chant, meditate and share by the log fire on New Year's Eve.
Participants are welcome to offer talks or workshops over the 4 days which we will try to fit into our schedule. Spontaneity is very likely. This retreat is suitable for all levels of yoga.

“42 Acres is a truly magical retreat: a sacred space of calm and peacefulness set in the restorative nature of Somerset...” XB
“42 Acres is a magical haven. The unintrusively cool interior design is in a league of its own and absolutely bang up to date, and yet, this beautiful home still retains its connection to the past. The setting is 42 acres of glorious nature, gorgeous English farmland, bounded by ancient meadows and forests. I experienced one of the most magical weekends at 42 acres and this place will forever be in my heart. I can't recommend it enough.” SVS
"The house is beautifully appointed and has very comfortable luxurious rooms, the perfect place to get away from the stresses of everyday life and find some well needed peace. I will definitely be going back soon." MK
"I am still feeling the positive effects from my break. The location was beautiful, the food fantastic, the people lovely and Dory, by far, is the best teacher I have had in 18 years..." M
"I really enjoyed it all and found the space and quiet I needed ! Doing so much yoga was great! You are both so gifted at facilitating ... so nurturing and calm. A joy ! Xx" J
"I really enjoyed it and I have to say that it was largely down to the skill of your facilitation and how well you work together. You both so clearly put happiness on the map from the beginning and it filtered thro. Everyone relaxed and smiled! I loved the gentle humour too. I also appreciated all the hard work behind the scene and your attention to detail. You were both so generous and thoughtful". C
