For yogis who want to finally build their Inversions & Arm Balances with grounded biomechanics, empowering techniques, and expert guidance
Inversion Foundations LIVE
Unlock a proven system to create a fearless, balanced and lifelong inversions practice — without guesswork, random drills, or methods that don’t match the body
Inversion Foundations LIVE is an immersive online arm balance and inversion training for yoga students and teachers who want to build these postures properly, from the ground up.
Not through force.
Not through rushed timelines.
Not through fragmented tips.
But through a Structure, System and Support that actually makes sense.
“This was the BEST training I’ve ever done.”
— Shari, Yoga Teacher
This is not your average inversions programme
Master the mechanics, mindset and methods behind inversions and arm balances.
Inversions offer something no other asana does — a unique sense of lightness, strength and presence that can transform your practice, and your state of mind.
But after two decades of exploring and teaching these postures, here’s what I know:
How you approach them changes everything.
Much like baking, the outcome depends on your ingredients and your method.
And while many commonly taught cues sound logical, they often don’t set you up for success.
Whether you’re already practising inversions or just starting to explore them, there is a big difference between effortful and integrated.
Struggling doesn’t lead to progress. Precision does.
That is what this programme is built on.
“It was amazing, completely different from any other yoga training.” — Pat
“The way you’ve broken down all the essential components is so beneficial and makes total sense.” — Chang
THIS IS ABOUT MORE THAN GETTING UPSIDE DOWN
You’re probably not here just because you want to tick Headstand, Pincha or Crow off a list.
What you really want is something deeper than that.
You want a practice that feels:
calmer
clearer
lighter
more trustworthy
more intelligent
more sustainable
You want to:
stop fighting your way into poses
understand what you are doing and why
feel that these postures are actually being built, not just held together for a few seconds with effort and hope
trust your body more
stop feeling like you are guessing
know that what you are practising is not just getting you into a shape, but giving you something solid, repeatable and long-term
And for many people, there is something else too.
A desire to feel possibility again.
Confidence.
Freedom.
Challenge.
Energy.
Self-trust.
In a way that changes how you feel in your own body.
That is the deeper thing many people are really looking for here.
THE BODY BEFORE THE SYSTEM
There are plenty of places that will give you drills.
Plenty of places that will tell you to squeeze your core, kick harder, use the wall, build more shoulder strength and keep trying.
And yes, that gives something.
But if you’ve been around this work for any length of time, you’ll know that often it still doesn’t fully resolve the issue.
You can get stronger and still feel stuck.
You can practise for years and still know something hasn’t fully clicked.
You can “do” a pose and still feel like you don’t really understand it.
You can be a yoga teacher and still know there are huge pieces missing.
This is not another inversion programme built around random drills, generic techniques and more things to force your way through.
And it is not about replacing one yoga system with another.
The method here is built around the body, gravity, support, and the universal laws that govern how these postures actually work.
So whether your background is Ashtanga, Iyengar, classical hatha, flow, vinyasa, self-practice, teacher training or workshops, this work can deepen what you already do.
Because the body always comes first.
The body before the system.
MOST PEOPLE ASSUME THE PROBLEM IS THEM
Not strong enough.
Not flexible enough.
Too scared.
Too old.
Too late.
Wrong body.
Not enough ability.
But more often than not, that is not the real issue.
Usually, the method is incomplete.
The learning order is off.
The support is not there.
The environment people are learning in is too limited.
And huge parts of the actual architecture of the posture have never been fully shown.
Five minutes max in a group yoga class is not going to cut it.
So people do what they can with what they’ve been given.
They repeat the same patterns.
Use the same cues.
Take the same kind of classes.
Try harder.
And because the approach itself has gaps, the self-doubt gets reinforced.
So it becomes a story:
maybe I’m the issue
But what if that story is wrong?
What if the issue is not that you are broken, behind, weak or incapable…
…but that you have only ever been given fragments?
That is one of the biggest shifts people experience inside this work.
Not just, “here are better drills.”
But:
oh… maybe it was never me in the way I thought.
And when that lands, practice changes.
“I just held Crow for the longest time ever. Effortless! Thank you!”
“Watched this then proceeded to hold the most stable, no-momentum Pincha of my life. Thank you.” - Alex
THE METHOD:
BALANCE IS BUILT BEFORE BALANCE
Many approaches focus on getting you into the pose and then hope support, confidence and balance will appear once you are there.
That is backwards.
Balance is built:
in the preparation
in the foundations
in the movement
before you ever reach the centre point people call “balance”
So in Headstand, for example, the things that help you lift the legs with control and lightness are the same things that help you stay there calmly and sustainably.
Same in Crow.
Same in Pincha.
Same across the whole family of inversions and arm balances.
That is why I say:
Balance is built before balance
And this sits inside the framework we use in Inversion Foundations.
The 4 Vital Phases of Inversions
1. Preparation
The phase almost everyone skips or misunderstands.
Preparation is about setting the conditions.
Body. Breath. Awareness. Direction. Familiarity. Reducing unknowns.
Think of this as the software, the roadmap, the principles, the GPS system.
2. Foundation + Activation
The mechanics and techniques.
What actually needs to switch on.
What needs to connect to the floor.
What creates support.
What starts the lift.
3. Movement
This phase happens because of the previous phases.
How the pelvis moves.
How the spine is supported.
How the limbs travel.
How the body stays organised under load.
4. Balance
Physical, psychological and energetic.
The centre point of the posture.
And these sit inside:
The 3 S’s
System
A clear method.
A roadmap.
No random bits and pieces.
Structure
The right order.
The right timeframe.
The right progression.
The right learning environment.
Support
Feedback.
Mirrors.
Community.
Someone showing you what you can’t yet see for yourself.
The 4 Vital Phases show you what needs to happen in the posture.
The 3 S’s create the environment in which that can actually happen.
Without both, people stay stuck.
“I already had an inversions practice, but this completely changed how I approach headstand. The clarity, detail, and focus on technique have made a massive difference.”
— Alex
THIS IS NOT ONLY PHYSICAL
Of course the mechanics, techniques and physical drills matter.
But physical methodology alone does not fully close the gap.
You can have the best instructions in the world, but if fear is present — and it often is in ways people do not even realise — then that changes everything.
Fear changes:
timing
breathing
force
organisation
trust
decision-making
what you even attempt
And then there is awareness.
Where do you identify from in the body?
What do you feel as “me”?
What plane of the body are you most familiar with?
Where is your centre?
What happens when that shifts?
Then there is Hara.
Then breath.
Then the eyes.
Then the language you use.
Then the stories you carry around what is possible.
This is why the programme goes beyond drills.
Because these postures are not only physical events.
They are mirrors.
They show you how you respond to pressure.
How you handle challenge.
What you assume is true.
Where you grip.
Where you rush.
Where you hold back.
Where you still do not trust.
That is why this work has teeth.
And that is why it spills way beyond yoga.
WHY THIS TAKES TIME
The way most people learn these postures is fragmented.
A class gives you a few minutes.
A workshop gives you a few useful bricks.
A teacher training often still leaves gaps, or uses the very methods that are keeping you stuck.
Online videos throw tips at you with no progression and no feedback.
And then society piles something else on top:
The idea that the best method is the quickest method.
Fast-track.
Quick result.
Shortest route.
Biggest outcome in the smallest timeframe.
That pressure gets into people’s practice in a huge way.
You stop asking:
what does this actually need?
And start asking:
how quickly can I get there?
They are not the same question.
I could probably get many people upside down in a day.
Some people would call that Headstand.
But if you want a Headstand that is:
calm
soft
centred
slow
sustainable
deeply supported
something you can stay in without panic or bracing
something that actually shifts your state
that takes time.
And time is not a bad thing.
The more you loosen the cultural noise that says faster is better, the more available you become for a richer practice.
You enjoy the process.
You take the time it needs.
You stop carrying unnecessary pressure.
And strangely, things often move better because you are no longer restricted by unrealistic timeframes.
This programme is built for that.
WHAT’S INSIDE
There are already 6 trainings ready to work through inside the Inversions portal, along with a growing bank of resources geared towards inversions and arm balances.
As soon as you enrol, you have instant access to this.
And it will keep growing.
Because the vision for this programme is not to stop at “here’s a few postures.”
The vision is:
foundations
revisiting complexity
sequencing
intermediate modules
advanced modules
community and support
and eventually certification for those who want to go on to teach this work in their own communities
This is the beginning of something much bigger.
Included inside the programme
★ Weekly live training
Live training, one posture at a time, one layer at a time. All recorded so you never miss a thing.
★ Bi-weekly coaching sessions
To troubleshoot, ask questions and get clarity on what is happening in your own practice.
★ Community group
A place to ask questions, share where you are at, and learn not only from your own feedback but from what others in the room are going through too.
★ Video feedback
So you are not left guessing.
★ The portal
This is the training hub. All live trainings are recorded, and the programme is structured so that live or replay does not matter. The method and progression are what matter.
★ Inversion-specific resources
Supporting material that helps make the postures more probable and more predictable.
★ Launch offer: lifetime access
So you can take the time this work actually needs. Work at your own life schedule and receive support at whatever stage you are at.
★ Complementary access to related programmes
Any programme we run outside Inversion Foundations that is relevant to these practices — you will have access.
HOW THE PROGRAMME WORKS
The postures are taught systematically and one posture at a time.
When you enrol you will find a growing library of foundational trainings already inside.
You can either start with these or jump into the live training schedule — or both.
The simpler postures we may cover in one week.
For the more complex postures, we take 4–6 weeks.
Each posture is broken down step by step, in detail.
We build layer by layer.
The programme is ongoing and evolving.
It’s a space and practice community dedicated to this family of asana.

“I’ve taught for 12 years, and this completely changed my headstand. I finally understand what my body should be doing… and I can teach it more clearly too.”
— Em, Yoga Teacher
THIS IS ALSO FOR YOU IF AGE HAS BECOME PART OF THE STORY
A lot of people carry the belief that maybe they missed the window.
That perhaps these postures were for them when they were younger.
That maybe now it is too late.
I don’t buy that.
Age changes things, yes.
But not in the simplistic, dismissive way it is so often spoken about.
Maturity brings:
patience
subtlety
intelligence
self-awareness
willingness to build something properly
Those are strengths.
So no, this is not only for the ultra-bendy twenty-something who can throw themselves upside down without thinking.
It is for real people.
Real bodies.
Real lives.
People who want a practice that can last.
WHY I OPENED THIS
I first taught these postures in classes.
But classes were too short.
So I taught workshops.
But workshops still had limitations.
Then immersions.
And those were powerful, but still had limits too.
Because some things simply do not unfold in a day.
Or two days.
Or even three.
Some things take weeks.
Some take months.
Some need support while they are changing.
Some need the cement to dry before another layer can be built.
So I built the thing I wished had existed when I was piecing all of this together.
A place where:
the physical and non-physical are both in the room
no stone gets left unturned
the postures are taught in the right order
support is built in
and people are not rushed through something that actually needs time
That became Inversion Foundations.
Senior Teacher, Yoga Educator & Founder: Rory Viggers
Rory Viggers is a senior yoga educator with 20+ years’ experience in Yoga practice, movement, embodiment, and teaching. He’s known for his biomechanical clarity, deep understanding of movement, and supportive, empowering style.
One of his specialisms in helping students break free from stuck patterns, rebuild foundational strength, and experience inversions and arm balances with more ease, safety and confidence.
Rory’s work is deeply informed by his long-time study with master teacher Dona Holleman, whose unique approach to yoga integrates structure with subtlety, and invites a profound quality of attention and presence. Her influence is woven throughout his teaching — not as a method to copy, but as a living inquiry into how we inhabit the body and mind through practice. He continues to mentor and teach internationally.
“There are yoga teachers, and then there are teachers of Yoga. Rory belongs to the latter.”
WHAT CHANGES INSIDE A SPACE LIKE THIS
Not because people suddenly become superhuman.
But because the whole relationship changes.
The method changes.
The lens changes.
The story changes.
The pressure drops.
Hope returns.
Fear softens.
The body organises differently.
And things that once felt impossible begin to make more sense.
Not always overnight.
But deeply.
And in a way that lasts.

A few practical questions
Do I need to be able to do a headstand or handstand already?
Not at all. This is designed to support everyone — from complete inversion beginners to experienced practitioners — in building or refining a strong, sustainable inversion practice.
Is this suitable for yoga teachers?
Yes. You’ll gain a biomechanics-based framework that you can immediately bring into your classes — plus powerful tools to better support your students.
I’ve been practising headstand for years — will this still be relevant?
Absolutely. If your current approach feels heavy, inconsistent or unclear, this programme will help you rebuild from the ground up and unlock new freedom.
What if I’m not strong or flexible enough?
You don’t need extreme strength or flexibility. What matters is learning how to work with your body using smarter technique.
Do I need to attend live?
No. All sessions are recorded, and the structure works whether you attend live or by replay.
Is coaching included?
Yes.
Is the community included?
Yes.
What if I only care about one or two postures?
That is fine. Some people will focus on particular postures. Others will move through everything more sequentially.
What if I’m older?
That is not a reason this is not for you.
Is this only about inversions and arm balances?
No. It starts there, but it absolutely filters into the rest of practice and beyond.
How long do I get access?
Lifetime.
IF YOU WANT TO BUILD THESE POSTURES PROPERLY…
If you want more than fragments…
If you want a method that is intelligent, body-first and actually sustainable…
If you want support, not just more information…
Then this is the place for that.
System. Structure. Support.
That is what Inversion Foundations is built on.
