Yoga Day - Bristol
Slow down, you move too fast
Sunday 30 November | Bristol
The art of slowing down.
A whole day of Yoga, breath, and stillness
“This was the BEST training I’ve ever done.”
— Shari, Yoga Teacher
The World is Obsessed with Speed
We live in a culture where fast is the new normal
Instant access. Constant doing. Always rushing to the next thing.
Even in Yoga, the same pattern shows up:
• “Nail your arm balance in two weeks.”
• Endless new styles, sequences, and quick fixes.
• Faster, bigger, better.
But speed comes with hidden costs:
• The hamster wheel of more rushing, more doing
• A scattered mind that never truly rests
• A practice that stays surface-level, missing its deepest gifts
Why Going Slow is a Superpower
Going slow absolutely doesn’t mean being lazy, waiting around, or falling behind.
It means:
• Experiencing practice frame by frame
• Paying attention to what’s really happening in your mindbody
• Dropping the pressure of speed and returning to your why, your purpose, your center
Slowness is not absence of action — it’s presence in action.
The art of going slow is one of the most powerful practices we have to meet life from depth.
The Science of Slowness
Your brain is fast — always processing, predicting, racing ahead.
Your body moves more slowly, except in moments of danger when instinct overrides thought.
When you move at speed, the brain dominates.
When you slow down, your body finally has the chance to catch up, comprehend, and integrate.
Slowness allows intelligence to permeate more deeply — through body, mind, emotions, and energy.
The Art of Listening
Too often, when others speak, we’re not really listening.
We’re comparing, planning, futurecasting.
Slowness allows for total presence.
To hear without judgment.
To meet yourself — and others — as they are, right now.
This is the quiet power of slowing down:
a return to listening, presence, and acceptance across every layer of life.
The Gift of Slowing it down
Slow is not passive. It’s the art of savouring.
Through this day you’ll experience:
• Contentment in the present moment
• Peace and attunement with yourself
• Where speed is trapped in the mindbody and release it
• The joy of simplicity: Finding beauty in everyday experiences
• A relaxed, carefree attitude that arises naturally when you’re no longer rushing
Slowing down becomes not just a practice, but a celebration of life itself.
Instead of racing into the New Year at full speed…
What if you began from stillness?
From a place that feels grounded, centered, and free of worry.
A place where clarity and knowing live.
A place of action without pressure.
This day is your chance to step out of the vortex of speed and remember what it feels like to be fully present.
What to Expect
A carefully curated day of:
• Yoga asana & movement — slowed down so you can feel and understand each nuance
• Pranayama — breath practices to bring balance to your nervous system
• Contemplative practices & mind mechanics — cultivating stillness, presence, and awareness
You’ll spend the day unraveling the noise of “fast” and reconnecting to the richness that only comes with “slow.”
By the End of the Day, You’ll Feel…
More grounded and centered
Less worry, less pressure
Clear, calm, and powerful
Anchored in a place of knowing and intentional action

FAQ’s
Do I need to be able to do a headstand or handstand already?
Not at all. This day is designed to support everyone — from complete inversion beginners to experienced practitioners — in building or refining a strong, sustainable inversion practice.
Is this suitable for yoga teachers?
Yes. You’ll gain a biomechanics-based framework that you can immediately bring into your classes — plus powerful tools to better support your students.
I’ve been practising headstand for years — will this still be relevant?
Absolutely. If your current approach feels heavy, inconsistent, or unclear, this immersion will help you rebuild from the ground up and unlock new freedom.
What if I’m not strong or flexible enough?
You don’t need extreme strength or flexibility. What matters is learning how to work with your body using smarter technique — and that’s what this day is all about.
How many places are available?
Just 12 — to ensure you get plenty of individual support, hands-on help and tailored feedback.
